Let the adventure begin. Lying on my new bed, I could not fall asleep. I was thinking about everything that had happened since I arrived in England. The host family - a nice couple with their kid and their dog -, their house, the fact that every freaking house looks the same here and my angst that I would once forget in which one I was living. There was also my new roommate, Leonid, an Ukrainian guy about my age. He seemed pretty cool, which was a relief: imagine living with someone you can't stand. After, I come from a very large family, so maybe I am used to get along with pretty much anyone. Another good thing was that Leonid was a guy. Honestly, sharing a room with a girl can be a living hell.

By midnight, we decided to turn off the light and get some sleep. A good plan, since tomorrow we'll have the welcoming day, not to forget to find out all our new classes and everything. It makes me a bit nervous, to have to get used to so many things in a short amount of time, but well, I won't be the only one in this situation, right? I laid my hands behind my head, and just when I started to slowly fall asleep, a repetitive sound annihilated this feat. It took me several minutes to find out what was happening and to ironically tell myself that it was nice, being hosted by a young couple who has no shame banging each other next to some students. Poor kid, by the way. I turned in order to face Leonid’s bed, wondering if he was asleep.
